The curricula at Seattle Waldorf High School include both broad and deep study of mathematics, sciences, humanities, art, language, movement, and music. In order to provide a balanced education and encourage social cohesion in each class, Waldorf EducationSM asks everyone to do everything: everyone takes calculus, everyone sings, and every student studies four sciences for all four years (Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and Chemistry).
The integrated nature of our program incorporates engaging opportunities to strengthen practical skills, reinforce important academic concepts and help students gain confidence. Students experience the laws of physics while sea kayaking, consider the abstract patterns of geometry while painting, and learn the consequences of decision-making while on a multi-day backpacking trip. In this way, the concepts learned in class are actualized through real experiences.

Throughout a student’s four years, faculty members and advisors constantly revisit these core questions, keeping in mind the long-term goals for education at Seattle Waldorf High School: build a firm foundation for lifelong learning and positive participation in the world.
