In our Kindergarten the child’s imagination is nourished as a great treasure. Songs, poems, puppet plays and circle games tune the child’s ear to the beauty of language. Bread-baking, drawing, and painting awaken the senses. Experiences with natural materials—like wood, silk, and beeswax—appeal to the sense of touch and engender reverence for nature. Outside play, nature walks, and gardening allow the children to experience the joy of movement. The home-like environment eases the child’s transition from home life into school.
In the kindergarten, healthy social interactions are nourished, listening skills are sharpened, and large and small motor skills are allowed to flourish—preparing the young child for future academic challenges in the grade school.
