Give Your Time and Talent

Our school community’s long-standing tradition of volunteerism is strong. Opportunities to participate are numerous. Whether you have an hour each month or time every week, your support is deeply appreciated.

Participate in our Parent Association

Every Seattle Waldorf School parent is a member of the Parent Association, and we encourage you to actively participate in its work.

Admission Ambassadors: These parent volunteers support the work of the Admission Office by volunteering at tours and open houses, calling prospective families to follow up after events, and welcoming new families to the school. They use their connections in the broader community to spread the word about SWS.

Advancement Representatives: These volunteers support our Admissions, Community Relations and Development teams in reaching out to the larger community to say, “Here we are, come take a look!” They share information at class meetings and encourage others to spread the word about SWS.

Festival Life: Teachers, parents and children work together in anticipation and celebration to express the unique character of our festivals, including Michaelmas, the Lantern Walk, Shepherd’s Play, Winter Spiral, Passover and May Faire.

Grandparents Day: These annual celebrations in November offer a fun morning for our children’s grandparents when they visit.

Parent Education Series: Want to hear speakers on raising children in a world of technology, how to provide nutritious meals in a fast-food age, or other parent topics? Help us plan one or two events a year that we can open to all in our general community.

WHOLE: Join other Waldorf Helpers of Outdoor Learning Experience in caring for our campuses. Children are welcome to attend if supervised by an adult.
